Price guarantee?
What price guarantee?
I was interested in a Fiesta Zetec 5 door on at £9,681 with Evans Halshaw in Preston. I spoke to one of their sales team, Dave Dewhurst, who (loosely) explained their price guarantee policy. Last night I did my research and found a like for like at a competitor dealer, within 2,000 miles, same spec, year, model at £8,994 (in fact, the cheaper car had metallic paint and privacy glass). I called Mr Dewhurst today asking for the £687 reduction on the car I was interested in with them. He agreed that the vehicle had ’slipped through their net’ quoting a mileage discrepancy (I think he meant mistake) and that since my call they had now correctly priced the vehicle at £9,291. I then spoke to his manager Mark (who may also be their dealer principal - who is supposed to deal with complaints - for what it’s worth!!) who stated it was outside the 60 mile radius (first mention of this of course) and basically couldn’t care less when I said I will never do business with them or their group. I also told them I would spread the word among my friends, family and colleagues - oh yeah, and Twitter!
Now ask yourselves this question, if the car I found was genuinely not within the price guarantee (for whatever reason, i.e., outside the radius) why did they reduce the price immediately from £9,681 to £9,291? Surely, they would just have explained the reasons why and left it at it’s original price?
Do not do business with Evans Halshaw, Preston!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have been warned!!!!
Right, I’m off to tweet - see you there!!!!

“”””WARNING BUYER BEWARE”””” I have just been to look at a 59 plate mondeo, on paper it looked good the only issue is then of 1 OWNER and 100s of drivers. Yes it used to be a hire car. I had to ask, only because I spotted the tell-tale signs of the hire company logo under the Ghia badge. The salesman just told me that most of the cars on the pitch are ex-hire cars. Is this why are grantee they are the cheapest around. They will also insult you with the trade in valuation. You have been warned buy at your peril!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought a used Audi A6 from Preston On the 1st day noticed a chip with cracks on the top of windscreen. Called them but was told they couldnt do anything about it as it wasnt a MOT failure. Very poor after service so be very wary when you buy from them. So now have to sort it out calling my insurance.
Poor, Very Poor business tactics!!!

Whole after sales is a joke. They are only interested in you until they have your money. I have not had a return phone call yet, and even the dealer principal doesn’t respond to letters of complaints! Don’t go here!!

I can only endorse what the previous review of Richard Holyfield says. I bought a car from Richard 3 years ago and it was a pleasure to talk to someone whose objective is to find you the right deal, rather than to sell you a car Just bought another car from him and it was like talking to an old friend. Never a problem with this dealership.

absolutely disgraceful treatment from the whole team after you have signed the company do not stand by their 30 day warranty after they said they would repair it then they say it will be too expensive to repair. We want a full refund and this matter will be going further . you will hear from my solicitor in due course

Hello,
My Wife and I came to Evan Halshaws, Preston, to look for a new vehicle. We were
met by Richard Holyfield, who proceeded to take us through one of the most pleasant and informative car buying experiences I can remember.
It’s all too common to run into obnoxious car salesmen who only want to get your signature and their commission as fast as possible. Richard proved to be a wonderful exception to that cliché, and he has ensured that we will be coming back to
your dealership for years to come. Thank you very much.
Regards,
Mr & Mrs Lucas
