The used car market is in a fragile state - too many vehicles and not enough buyers - and there’s even more stock coming on to the market. This means it’s and excelent time to buy a set of wheels at auction, according to UK vehicle auction company BCA.
“Average used car values are under pressure, and there are plenty of good-value cars on offer for motorists prepared to buy at auction,” says BCA spokesman Tim Naylor:
“There are some excellent deals to be found on good quality rx-fleet and nearly new vehicles, and with increasing columes of caras available from a variety of quality sources, stock will inevitably be sold at what the market will pay. So private buyers could find this is an excellent time to buy at auction.” he says.
Many vehicles sold at auction are one-owner, and direct-entered from fleets and leasing companies, so they already represent excellent value for money.
“Right now, used car buyers have a chance to get an even better deal, and with cars of every age and description and a prive range to suit every budget, there will be something for everyone,” says Mr Naylor.
