Jaguar Cars is one of the top names in luxury vehicles. This UK company has been in business for almost 90 years and during this time managed to impress a lot of people. Jaguar is a name that is associated with elegance as well as high performance; this is why it is the car used by the UK Prime Minister and members of the Royal Family. Jaguar is an internationally recognised name in top quality cars and there are dealers. Wherever there is a call for such luxurious vehicles you will usually find a Jaguar dealer on hand.
The History of Jaguar
Jaguar opened for business in 1922, but in those days the company was called the Swallow Sidecar Company. At the time they did not produce cars but instead sidecars for motorbikes. The name Swallow Sidecar probably would have stuck if it wasn’t for World War 2; the company felt that it was bad for marketing that they had the initials SS ( more associated with the deadly Nazi platoon). Therefore the name of the company was changed to Jaguar in 1945. As time went by the company moved from sidecars to racing cars and by the 1950s they had built a reputation for high performance and luxurious cars. Over the years Jaguar merged with other companies, and is now a part of Tata motors in India.
Jaguar Vision
The vision of Jaguar is simple; to build beautiful cars that will allow people to really experience the joy of driving. The emphasis is on luxury combined with superior quality motoring. Although it is now foreign controlled Jaguar is still proud to be a British car.
Jaguar Cars
Jaguar has managed to produce some amazing cars over the years. The 1948 Jaguar XK-120 was a luxury car that was cheap enough for those who weren’t particularly rich to afford. It was a beautiful two seater that came with a powerful XK-120s 3.4 litre engine. In 1951 the Jaguar C type was the first car to come fitted with disc brakes. This was a limited edition sports car that performed extremely well on the track. In 1971 the Jaguar XKE Series 3 V-12 was a sign of things to come; this was the vehicle that truly combined luxury with performance. The company has continued to produce fantastic cars right up until today with the Jaguar XKR being one of the latest great additions.
